Hulu is home to many great TV shows and movies. As a streaming service, it entirely depends on your internet connection; issues may arise if that connection is unstable. One of them is error 94, the most common occurrence when connecting from a device. You can find Hulu code 94 on almost any streaming device, including Apple TV, Xbox One, and Android TV. The good newscast is that there are many belongings you can do to fix Hulu error 94.

What Is Error 94 on Hulu?

When your internet connection is spotty or poor, Hulu error 94 appears. Second, it can be busy with out-of-date software or device compatibility issues.

How to Fix Error 94 on Hulu

You can resolve the problem by following several troubleshooting procedures.

Restart Hulu

The simplest solution is to restart Hulu after closing it. Most frequently, you choose Hulu and then quit the program. However, sometimes it’s not that simple. One example is the Fire TV Stick.

To stop Hulu, navigate to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.

Depending on your device, different apps may need to be closed and restarted, but they all do it similarly.

Restart your device.

Whether you’re using a smart TV, Firestick, or another device to view Hulu, there is an easy fix: simply power cycle the device. By shutting the Hulu app off and back on again, you can clean up any internal memory and restart it. Don’t forget to reboot your router at the same time.

Turn off your VPN

Try turning off your VPN if you use it to access Hulu videos from a different country. While streaming service loading troubles are frequently happening by more secure VPNs.

Check Another Streaming Service

As annoying as it may seem when Hulu isn’t working, check if other services are working before diving into more complicated steps. If the problem is with your internet connection, try to fix it before clearing your cache, uninstalling the app, or performing other time-consuming troubleshooting steps.

If not, do a speed test. You may have trouble streaming content if your Internet speed exceeds the recommended rates of at least 3.0 Mbps for Basic Library (or 16.0 Mbps for 4K content). However, Hulu says viewers can stream in reduced quality at speeds as low as 1.5Mbps.

Get Rid of Your Cache

If you’re watching Hulu through your web browser, the problem could be a corrupted cache. Clearing your cache can solve many issues that Hulu can cause. Every browser has its method for clearing the cache, but here’s how to do it in Chrome.

  1. Select the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen, then select More tools > Clear browsing data.
  2. Make sure Cached images, files, cookies, and other site data are selected.
  3. Select Clear Data.

Once you have done this, your cache will be clean. Although websites and services require you to log in again, this is an easy fix for many technical issues.

Delete the App Cache

You can clear your app cache if you get Error 94 when viewing Hulu on mobile. Android and iOS differ in how this is thru; a clean cache behaves as if the app were new to your device. If you restart it, you have to log in again. How to delete it on iOS:

  1. Open Settings > General.
  2. Select iPhone Storage > Hulu.
  3. Select Download App.

Confirm your choice when prompted. This will remove all Hulu-related data from your phone but will not remove the app. Next time it will take a little longer to start as it will reinstall the necessary background files, but hopefully, it will start without the error.

Hulu should be deleted and then reinstalled.

Another common problem is an outdated app. If it’s been a while since you’ve updated the Hulu app, try removing it entirely by uninstalling it from your device and downloading the latest software version.

(Tip: you can also avoid this as long as you check for updates.)

Software Updates for Your Device

Routine Hulu updates are essential, but you should also remember to update your streaming devices. Even something as small as a missed Windows 10 update can disrupt streaming, primarily if the update affects your GPU or drivers.

Depending on the device, there are different ways to check for updates. Here’s how to do it for Roku.

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Check Now.

While most hardware updates are applied automatically, you may need to update manually if your device has been offline for a long time.

Hulu has some error codes, but don’t worry; most streaming services have them too. These codes are only one way to identify the cause of a problem, although some codes are vague and can be caused by a variety of different sources. So, follow these steps to watch How I Met Your Mother again (and yes, you can skip the final season).

With a Roku app, you can access hundreds of movies and TV shows from various download apps (also known as channels). Downloading channels to your Roku device is similar to downloading apps to your smartphone. Media can add through your device, the Roku website, or a mobile app on your smartphone or tablet. Add apps to Roku by following the instructions below.

Add Apps To Your Roku Device

  1. Press the home key on your Roku remote. You arrive at the start menu.
  2. Tap the Broadcast Channels option from the left sidebar. Open the Roku Channel Store.
  3. Select a category or Browse Channels and enter the channel you want to add. When browsing lists, you can click the Rewind or Fast Forward button on your Roku remote to move up or down a page.
  4. Now press OK on the remote control to get more information about a channel. Displays channel summary and rating and displays screenshots.
  5. Once you find the channel you want, touch Add channel or Shop. The button says Add Channel if the channel is available. It will say “Buy” when the app requests payment. There are two ways to add a track to your Roku homepage.

Note: Free apps like YouTubeTV require subscriptions or pay-per-view like those offered by Netflix and Hulu.

You can request to enter your Roku PIN here if you have one. You will receive further payment instructions if you do not have a unique identification number (PIN).

Add Apps Through The Roku Website

When you’re away from your Roku device, you can add channels from your computer.

  1. First go to ChannelStore.Roku.com.
  2. Then tap Connect. If you don’t see it in the top-right corner of your screen, you can maximize or zoom out your browser window.
  3. Sign in now or create an account.
  4. Finally, select a channel and click Add Channel. Channels can sort by genre or category. Another choice is to use the Search Channel box to search for accessible channels. To see more information about a specific channel, click the Details button once you locate it.

If you are purchasing a paid channel, you must complete additional steps.

Note: This policy can add a channel to your Roku device in as little as 24 hours. Roku devices automatically scan the system for new changes every 24 hours. Select Settings > System > System Update, then tap Check Now on your Roku device to speed it up.

How To Add Apps Using The Roku Mobile App

Roku adds channels with your smartphone.

  1. download the Roku app. You can easily find this app in Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  2. When the app opens, tap the Channels icon. It’s usually at the lowest of the screen in the navigation bar. If this is your primary time using the app, click Connect in the next window. Afterwards, you must select your device from the list and pair it.
  3. Then click Channel Store on the top menu.
  4. Then scroll down to search by genre or touch the magnifying glass icon to search by name.
  5. Finally, select Add channel.

Buy the channel if it’s an in-app purchase and if it’s free. To log in, you must enter your Roku. Account PIN.
